In this case, the light weight, rich, gently flower embossed silk Devoré makes it a glamorous. The fabric has a light shine and the structured is sewen on the bias (meaning cutting the fabric diagonally, which makes it drape beautifully and gives it a natural stretch)

Devoré (also called burnout) is a fabric technique usually used on velvets (so very rare on silk), where a mixed-fiber material undergoes a chemical process to dissolve the cellulose fibers to create a semi-transparent pattern against more solidly woven fabric.
