This leather and lace embroidery jacket is Sandrine Philippe at her most extraordinary. Panels of supple leather are worked together with intricate lace insets so seamlessly that ones seems to dissolve into the other, with loose threads and irregular edges blurring the line between the two. The open lacework is left unbacked, allowing glimpses of skin beneath, while the asymmetric paneled construction gives the jacket its skewed, sculptural shape. Sharp collar and diagonal double-zipper bring the structure to something that otherwise feels entirely handmade and distinct.
